My running and hiking have taught me plenty about myself and my limits. Life begins at 40 and now I know why and how. This blog is about my running (and hiking) exploits secrets, tips, how-to and me being random.
Life’s short – be random.
We only get out what we put in. I am continuing to find and discover facets of myself as I set out to live the Adventurous, Brave and Creative life. I took up hiking as an endurance sport and challenge in 2013. Completed a 100km event in 24 hours. I continued to pursue hiking as recreation then took on the Oxfam Trailwalker 100km event in 2014 and 2015. I started running to support and increase my stamina for my hikes. Now I run longer distances and use hiking to support my running.
I have done numerous running events in Sydney, ranging from 5km to 21.1km distances. All the while collecting race bling as a side interest. All this from not having any running experience at all and I’m continuing to best my running times.
I wish you good reading and hope my experiences will inspire and help you achieve your life and fitness goals.
I’m Mickey and I run.
